Lincoln Staff Profiles

Chris Hay (Interim Lincoln Team Leader & Minty Team Leader)
I joined staff in 2015 having realised the highlight of my time at uni was involvement with Lincoln University Christian Fellowship. I’ve been mostly working alongside Lincoln Uni students to help them reach the campus with the gospel. More recently, it’s been a real joy to be running TSCF’s internship programme Minty, as it was very formative for me after graduating from uni.

Kate McClelland (Special Projects – World Assembly)
After being involved with the Christian Fellowship at uni, I returned to Lincoln with a desire to make disciples and see students come to know Christ. I’ve enjoyed adventuring with students and seeing them grow in their faith, but am currently on maternity leave.

Tim Hodge (Head of Training & Development)
Reaching students for Christ and changing students for life is our aim as TSCF: what could be more exciting than that! As our Head of Training and Development, I get to encourage, train, and assist TSCF student groups and TSCF staff across the motu. Home is in Lincoln so of all the students I meet, I have the honour of knowing the Lincoln context the most.

Ani Kartikasari (Associate Staff)
I have been providing pastoral care for postgraduate students, mostly internationals. We’ve been able to meet regularly for fellowship, prayer and the occasional shared meal or retreat in Akaroa. Working closely with the university has opened up great opportunities to connect with students.

What’s Happening On Campus?

Wednesday Lunch:
Every Wednesday at 1pm, we meet together on campus to eat and spend time together. This semester we are also working through TSCF’s Basis of Belief that brings us together from different churches and backgrounds as the Lincoln Uni Christian Fellowship. We are asking the question, ‘so what?’ What is the Basis of Belief, and why is it something we should know, praise and worship God for?

Connect Events:
One of the main priorities for the start of the year is connecting and building relationships with new students. We will be running many social events and catch-ups to meet people and help them grow to be part of the Christian Fellowship community.

Bible Study:
Every Monday night we gather together in TSCF’s new residential community house, The Well, to study the Word. This is for those who know lots or little about Christianity; currently, we are working through 1 Peter.

Prayer Meeting:
One of the most important times of the week! Every Wednesday from 12.00-12.30pm we meet on campus in the Chapel. This is open to staff and students.

Campus Groups

Some say Lincoln campus is New Zealand’s smallest but arguably finest campus with two TSCF groups.
Lincoln University Christian Fellowship seeks to reach undergrad students with the gospel. This includes halls students, second years, third years, international students.

The post-graduate group is very ably run by Ani Kartikasari. This group seeks to reach those who are studying post graduate studies on campus, many of whom are international.

Both groups aim to meet and build relationships with people with the goal of introducing them to Christ in the Bible.
