Mark & Renée Santich

Christchurch Team Leader and Head of Outreach, & Staff Worker

We have been hanging around reading the bible with uni students at Canterbury since Jan 2001. Mark, is our Mr Fix-it: “Dad, the internet is down!” “Dad, there’s a hole in the muffler of the Mini!” He is also Barista Santich, making the best coffees on the Mainland—come and try! Together we have four awesome offspring, Zac, Josh, Jessie and Ethan.

In Mark’s role as Canterbury team leader he reads the Bible with uni students and teaches awesome courses about Jesus. Born in the heat of semi-desert Australia, he also loves hot days, fishing, growing tropical fish at home, restoring 1970s Minis and making furniture.

Renée loves chatting over coffee while reading the Bible with uni girls, giving talks to women’s groups, lots of stuff with the Christchurch Anglican diocese, talking through life and how God is at work in the good and hard stuff of life. This has developed into some biblical counseling studies and counseling over the past few years. Renée’s other crazy pursuits of late: walking our bouncy golden retriever puppy, tramping with an over 40s tramping (hiking) club, canoe polo, strategy board games, (hopefully) re-learning surfing, and sewing clothes.
