Kim Shaw

Global Reach Coordinator

In the 1990s I studied teaching and education at Canterbury University. The TSCF group there caused me to think deeply about the Bible and how its message would shape my life beyond university. It also provided an awesome community, encouraging me to put my faith into action on campus.  I was encouraged to think creatively about how my training could be used for God’s Kingdom both in NZ and overseas.

My work has been varied. I taught in state schools in NZ and the UK and worked in schools-based youth work, state school chaplaincy and alternative education. My husband, Dan, and I also lived in Cambodia, providing education and pastoral care for missionary families. Ongoing theology study has continued to challenge and influence the life of mission that God has called me to in both community and church-based contexts.

Dan and I have three children. Since being based in Wellington, it has been exciting to reconnect with TSCF and walk alongside a new generation of students. My vision in this role is to see students live undivided lives of authentic love for Jesus on campus and beyond – devoted to him and living the adventure he calls them to, wherever that may lead.
