Kathryn Miller
Canterbury Staff Worker
I grew up in the multicultural community of South Auckland, so cross-cultural ministry has always been important to me.
Another thing that I enjoyed as a child was having lots of pets. My family has a farming background, and we’ve had several lambs, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens, tadpoles, and a cat.
My first experience in academia was a diploma in web design. Studying and tutoring this course, I picked up skills in adult learning styles, student mental health support, and academic processes. Then I worked in web design for a little while and completed a computer science degree at AUT. It was at AUT that I was introduced to TSCF.
Through TSCF, I really grew in my faith as I read the Bible at Uni. I was thrilled to get to know Jesus better and see him work in my friends too. As a result, it’s a joy to continue to reach students for Christ and change them for life. My role at Canterbury Uni involves training student leaders, reading the Bible one-to-one, equipping students to reach their peers, and equipping students to reach their workplace.
In my spare time, I enjoy classical and pop music, watching Marvel movies and having bubble tea with friends.
