Will & Esther Chu

Wellington Team Leader & Staff Worker

Will and Esther come from St. Louis, Missouri in the US.  Will grew up in Boston, Massachusetts while Esther grew up in Phoenix, Arizona.  They met through InterVarsity (IFES movement in US) as staff workers and have been married since 2013.  Their families immigrated to the US and are from China (Will’s parents), Hong Kong and Taiwan (Esther’s parents).  They come from families with a history of being ministers & missionaries.  They both came on staff (2008) after working in fields of education (Esther) and health (Will).

They recently moved to Wellington in August of 2025 with new hopes and fresh dreams but the same calling to continue serving God in campus ministry.  They both love seeing students encounter Jesus through prayer and reading the bible especially those who do it for the first time!

Will and Esther both enjoy short & long walks, board games, visiting museums, and eating delicious food.  Will enjoys sports, movies and documentaries.  Esther loves watching Korean & Chinese dramas, solving crossword puzzles and Rubik’s cube.
