Auckland Associate Staff Worker
I grew up in the UK and became a Christian at 19 at university in Aberystwyth, Wales, through the work of UCCF. After mixing school teaching, theological training and youth ministry for ten years in England, my wife, Ali and I moved to Auckland to work with Redeemer Grace Presbyterian church in South Auckland, primarily in the field of youth and sport.
In 2009, we said we’d stay for three years, but we have found God keeping us here. Ali does a great job of looking after our kids, Bethan and Matthew, and the day-to-day management of the family. I enjoy most things involving sport and competition, particularly running, road biking and tramping with whoever is willing to come!
I’m excited to be working in student ministry. I really appreciate helping to get students to think holistically about life as a follower of Jesus as we read the Bible together. I’m involved with Veritas, the Christian fellowship at Auckland University’s law school, and pioneering a work at Manukau Institute of Technology in South Auckland.
