Ruth loves to spend time with students and see their lives being transformed by God’s love and study of the Bible. The beach, art-galleries, sunshine and spending time with friends are among a few of her favourite things.
Josue is passionate about helping students engage intelligently their faith with EVERY area of their lives, personal, academic and professional. You will often find him reading, watching films and bush-walking.
Ruth was actively involved at Massey University Christian Fellowship (MUCF) for five years as a student before going to Ecuador to get experience in health and development work. Josue was involved in CECE (the Ecuadorian student movement) while studying dentistry before becoming a staff worker in 2000. The third member of the team is Ana Gracia (two years old) whose current pastimes are singing, dancing, reading ‘boops’ and playing outside. Ruth and Josue are now also delighted at the arrival of their second little girl, Ela Paz.
Ruth and Josue have worked pioneering a student group in the coastal city of Guayaquil for seven years before moving to Quito where they are responsible for staff and student training for the whole of Ecuador.
Ruth and Josue Hicks, our TSCF missionary staffworkers in Ecuador, are travelling to NZ 16 June – 22 August, and ask for prayer for their visas.
