After finishing school, Robyn studied statistics at the University of Auckland before going to the UK to travel around Europe. She ended up staying in London for over three years, studying and working in medical research.
While in London, she settled into a church which did a lot of work with students at universities. She came to know many people who had become Christians through the witness of their Christian friends at university, and others who had come from Christian families but had not understood what the gospel meant for them until they got involved with Christian groups at university. She realised what an important time university is for students to grapple with questions of faith, and what an amazing opportunity it is to reach people with the good news about Jesus.
Robyn valued the training she had received at her church in London and was keen to take all she had learned back to New Zealand to use it for ministry work here. She is really excited to be back home and working with TSCF to make Jesus known to students in Auckland.
Robyn's role as a regional staffworker is to work with student Christian groups at the University of Auckland and Auckland University of Technology. This involves meeting up with the student leaders to advise and guide them in their roles, discipling students one-to-one, training students to enable them to be effective witnesses, and helping out with evangelistic events that the groups organise.
