Personal Profile

Nigel, an energetic Scotsman, is married to Ailsa and they have three boys; Luke (17), Jamie (15) and Craig (12). The family live in Wellington, where Nigel is based in the National Office of TSCF. Nigel has a passion for relating faith to culture, applying the Bible to the whole of life and encouraging the next generation of people of influence. He spent 18 years of his life working for TSCF’s sister movement in the U.K, University & Colleges Christian Fellowship (UCCF). And in 2005 Nigel and the family relocated from Edinburgh to Wellington where Nigel took up the role of TSCF National Director. Nigel has considerable expertise in Vision Funding and Communications, Strategic Planning, Leadership and Governance. In 1998 he was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship to explore 'The Training and Development of Volunteers in the Pacific North West'. Nigel travels extensively around the Pacific Rim and beyond, and has been published extensively in magazines and newspapers and is the author of 'Unconditional"? and the best-selling 'Relationships Revolution'. Nigel is Executive Director of the Pacific Partnership Trust, a Director of the Vine Trust and Mission Scotland, a Trustee of El Rancho and a Council Member of Scripture Union. He coaches hockey at the Hutt Club and Wellington Rep. Teams. He enjoys all sport, culture television and photography.

Role Profile

Nigel has a vision for seeing tertiary students come to Christ, developing quality Christian leaders and equipping graduates to live with integrity. As National Director he manages the staff team and oversees the work of TSCF as a whole, promotes the Fellowship and helps to lead TSCF in strategic and innovative thinking at both a national and international level.

Nigel will be on study leave for six months of this year. His leave will be taken throughout the year allowing him time for study, writing, strategic planning, vision casting, support raising, reflection and personal development. Nigel will spend most of the year in New Zealand and will be speaking at events throughout the year. He will represent TSCF at international events such as the South Pacific Regional Conference in Fiji. While Nigel is away Val Goold is responsible for the overall direction of TSCF, along with Andy Shudall and Mark Grace. Please pray for them as they take on this responsibility.
