Jane and Jeff Pelz and their two children arrived in New Zealand September 2006. They are based in Auckland. A complicated identity: they are Americans and were first on staff with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in Chicago for many years, but have been living in the UK from 1998-2005. While there they were working with IFES coordinating teams in Europe, as well as locally coming alongside student work in Oxford with a bent toward international student outreach. Jeff and Jane enjoy unearthing 'culture' and conducting cross-cultural training for students. Their national role as Head of World Mission encompasses both international student outreach and global reach. With two percent of the people in NZ as international students, Jeff and Jane see tremendous opportunities for outreach and discipleship. They are also part of the Auckland staff team at Auckland University working with the Overseas Christian Fellowship. Jeff enjoys gardening and landscaping (but not in the rain) and Jane enjoys reading recipe books with flavours from around the world.
TSCF is committed to helping students become World Christians. The role of Head of World Mission is about keeping the world before us as we pray, read God’s word and make decisions about how we’ll spend our money, resources and time. Christians everywhere struggle to think and care about more than just their immediate surroundings. How can we reach out beyond our own culture intentionally and credibly? Global Reach, one of TSCF’s values, starts with a recognition that we are part of the IFES family, one of more than 140 other member movements around the world committed to seeing students reaching students for Christ. TSCF has defined partnerships with three IFES member movements. Alongside the traditional understanding of going into all the world with the Gospel, we have the chance as students to receive the world on campus in the form of international students. As our campus fellowships reflect the wider diversity of the campus itself through loving and serving the world on campus we have the chance to impact the ends of the earth here in New Zealand.
We anticipate more than 200 participants for SPaRC (5-9 April). Please pray for a minimum of 30 from NZ to come. We would like to have one student from each TSCF group in NZ.

Our AOCF camp is taking place over Easter. Most of the committee are heading home over the summer, so pray that we utilise the internet so we can plan efficiently.
