Gina calls herself a confused Malaysian, of Chinese heritage; her family moved from Malaysia to New Zealand in 1989. She has been involved with TSCF groups since 1995 as a student leader, graduate and advisor and staffworker. She was also the warden/manager of Kia Maia International Students Hostel for four years... and absolutely LOVED it!
Gina loves to travel, the outdoors, and the occasional tramping/camping trip. Climbing Mt Kinabalu in Malaysia is on her wishlist of places-to-visit. She also loves food from around the world, not to mention, an obsession with pickling and preserving. She has a great passion for singing and music, and loves being around people of all ages and cultures, and sharing life with them. Another thing you may not know about her, she grew up with two communist pet monkeys. Ask her about it!
Gina's role as a staffworker at Massey University (Wellington) is a pioneering role, as there is no TSCF group on this campus. She is also seconded as a part-time chaplain, helping to gain a greater understanding of this commuter campus, and to develop a strategy on how to reach out to these students. She also works with the TSCF groups at Victoria University (Christian Union and Wellington International Christian Fellowship), training the students leaders, and being their all-round cheerleader!
Gina has the desire to see gospel-shaped communities established on campus, and is committed to help students become genuine followers of Jesus.

God has blessed our group this year with so many new members! Half of them are not Christian so we're continuing to pray that Jesus will speak to their hearts this year

We will be having our combined camp this weekend, and would love for you to pray for those who are not Christian; that they will come to personally know Jesus.

Praise God for a fruitful O-week, with many new students eager to be involved. Pray for the challenges about what it means to both be a student and have faith in Jesus.

For the connections we made with new students at orientation to progress into genuine long-term friendships.

That each member will be strengthened through their personal relationship with Jesus, and not be distracted by the busyness of uni life.
