Canvas Issue 49 Winter 2008
Tuesday, October 21st, 2008 Posted By Anna Seaton |It won't be long before New Zealand heads to the polling booths to elect the next government. The Canvas team thought it was timely to examine the interface between faith and government.
Now some people maintain that the church and government should be kept completely separate. If by that they mean no one candidate is God's chosen person that we all must vote for, then I would tend to agree. If however they mean that our faith shouldn't influence our thinking about what kind of government we are looking for, then they couldn't be more wrong.
